Every edition of Natural Awakenings features numerous local News Briefs about events and businesses and one or two Kudos.

Your editorial submissions are what make Natural Awakenings a community resource for holistic and natural living. We want our readers to get to know you. Submitting editorial for one or more of our departments provides you with the opportunity to share knowledge and bring focus to your business.

We offer three types of editorials to choose from in our monthly publication cycle:       
NEWS BRIEFS / KUDOS, LOCAL HEALTH BRIEFS, or larger full length ARTICLES

NEWS BRIEFS / KUDOS

What's new? Share it with us! Did you open a new office, recently become certified in a new therapy, or do you have a special event coming up? We welcome any news items relevant to the subject matter of our publication. We also welcome any hot tips or suggestions you may have for a news item.  

KUDOS - Do you have someone in mind that deserves special recognition for a recent achievement? Did you just pass your licensing exam? We want to let everyone know in a Kudos brief.

  • Length: 50 to 250 words
  • ​Style: Write in 3rd person. (Please no "I, me, we, our, my, mine, you or yours")
  • Due on or before the 10th of the month prior to publication.

NEWS BRIEF & KUDOS FORM

LOCAL HEALTH BRIEFS

Short, interesting clips of information often referring to a new health fact or leading-edge research in a particular field. This is an opportunity to share bits of information about your particular therapy, (examples: massage lowers blood pressure; acupuncture shortens labor; exercise eases depression.)

  • Length: 50 to 250 words
  • Due on or before the 10th of the month prior to publication.
  • Please include any references.

ARTICLES


Articles featured in Natural Awakenings cover a wide range of subjects in the areas of health, healing, inner growth, fitness and earth friendly living.
  • Length: up to 1,200 words.
  • Deadline:  Due on or before the 10th of the month prior to publication.
  • Articles should be written in layman’s terms, and impart information in a way that does not sound self-serving.
  • We reserve the right to edit all submissions if necessary; for longer features, a copy of revisions can be returned upon request.
  • Please include a brief biography at the end of your article.

CALENDAR LISTINGS FOR PRINT EDITION**

To include your calendar listings in our Print edition**; please enter the information below through either our Calendar of Events or Ongoing Events forms. Note, events entered on our website calendar listing are FREE however; they are not automatically included in our print publication unless paid for or included in an advertisement package.**

We offer 3 options for our print calendar event listings. Note listings that cost over $150 to participate require a paid advertisement along with a calendar listing.

  • Calendar of Events: For one-time event listings, calendar date specific. $10 per listing.  
  • Ongoing Events: For regular classes, meetings, etc., occurring ongoing basis. $10 per listing.
  • SAVE-THE-DATE: For a bold, stand-out listing option. $35 per listing is available as an upgrade to either Calendar of Events or Ongoing Events.
